Hey y’all, I’m Karen! I use she/her pronouns.

I am so excited to be here for all of your hair removal questions and treatments! I chose to name my practice “Ally Electrolysis” because I’m a member of - and ally to - the queer community!

Being able to offer electrolysis treatment in our home area of Portland Oregon is a way I know I can PERMANENTLY help others live with more confidence, authenticity, and peace in their own body! My goal is to do this in the safest, most comfortable way possible while simultaneously being as effective as I can at treating unwanted hair.

As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community in Portland I am intimately aware of the lack of electrology providers in our area, and the additional hurdles that this bottleneck creates for trans folks to get their hair removal and GCS prep needs met. Due to unacceptably long wait-lists from the lack of providers, this is hard to do in a timely manner. This is disheartening because the process is long, and tedious, to prepare your body for surgery, and until the hair is completely and permanently gone folks can’t receive life-saving Gender Confirmation Surgery. Seeing those in our community first hand go through this experience/journey convinced me to do everything I could to help our community and other folks suffering from the dysphoria of unwanted body hair. If you don't feel at home in your body - there is hope.

I attended school for electrology in Monterey Bay, California where I obtained my California License of Electrology. I’m also licensed in Oregon, where I plan stay to help fill the gap of local providers. In addition, I continue to maintain my status as a Licensed Massage Therapist of 13 years after graduating from the University of Western States.
